Thoughts on those who use ChatGPT to copy and paste for their work?

ChatGPT is becoming more popular with those who write online to gain ideas for their projects but there have been instances where ChatGPT has been used for copy and pasting purposes to get work and projects done quicker.

What are your thoughts on people who use ChatGPT to cut corners with their work and projects?

I have seen a lot of people use AI tools to generate content and paste the same content on various websites. I think these people are either foolish or too ignorant. They don't know AI tools were not created to replace writers' jobs but to help writers and researchers.

There have been many instances where I have seen those who use ChatGPT but instead of taking what they find and changing it up and giving their own opinion or twist on it, they just paste it in several places and wonder why it either gets hidden or deleted.

I use ChatGPT to generate text but I always take the time to change it into my own words.

Copying and pasting anything from ChatGPT directly without changing it will always cause the person using this technique issues.

I find those who copy and past anything from ChatGPT without changing anything to make it unique are lazy and looking for easy ways to get work done quickly without the need to do much work.

I'd recommend at least reading over the content before posting it. Also, I'd say to do some fact-checking because ChatGpt is known to produce incorrect information at times. I'd recommend users use Grammarly to correct the wording and grammar, a plagiarism checker to ensure the information is 100% original, and an Ai checker to ensure your content sounds more natural.

I term it "mental laziness" for anyone that calls himself a writer to use ChatGPT or any language model at that, and then lift it as it is, and publish it as contents. I use ChatGPT and Bard to create ideas. Those ideas and explanations are the knowledge base I would call my research. From there, I creatively use that knowledge to create my own write up.

I see it as plagiarism to lift a text completely from a language model to publish.

ChatGPT should be used as an assistance to make you more productive and efficient. In no way it should become the main tool. Artificial intelligence can never supercede Natural Intelligence of a human and it should never be allowed to. Copy and paste would be plagiarism. People can use their natural intelligence to rephrase and rewrite the contents generated by Artificial intelligence.

Copy and pasting never work whether you are doing it using ChatGPT or other tools. The best way is to fetch ideas and data related to your project using ChatGPT and then do more research on other tools. After finding information, paraphrase by your own in your words without using any tools. If you are a seasoned writer then you can paraphrase and write in your own words without using any tool. This is my strategy to generate content rather than copy and pasting.

This is the best way to create content because AI like Chatgpt. Bard, perplexity and many others are the good resources to get the suggestions and ideas for the quality content. All you need to do is to implement the proper prompt for the right information.

AI tools like ChatGPT, Bard etc are good to provide you with a consolidated information. If provided with the right kind of prompt, it can give you intensive information in a consolidated and well articulated way. This will ease your work and save your time in going for research through various sources online and offline. But then to copy and paste it from there would be unethical. This would be plagiarism and can land you in serious trouble
Recently on many forums, I have seen many users been banned as they did copy and paste from ChatGPT.

I've seen cases where college students have 'written' entire thesis papers using ChatGPT. Personally, if I was a professor I would throw their 'work' out and fail them on principle. Not sure how useful ChatGPT can be in the 'workspace' but being that kids are using it to 'cheat' on their schoolwork nowadays I don't think there's much use for it?

That is perfectly logical, as Chatgpt isn't perfect at English. Even when you prompt it to check for grammatical errors, a portion of the answer still contains some grammatical issue. Also, it's important to fact check the information as Chatgpt is known for occasionally making up stuff.

But it is bad for writers that are just Copying and pasting anything from ChatGPT directly without changing it. it doesn't make sense because it just show how lazy and unprofessional one can be with work and projects.

Some writing sites ban these accounts that do such which I believe serve as a deterrent to others

I wouldn't say that they are either foolish or ignorant. Why do I say so? This is because they know exactly what they are doing to use ChatGPT in that way. They are only one lazy type of people who want to have everything too easy.

People need to know that ChatGPT should be used as an assistance and not the real tool for writing and copying it out verbatim . Al can never be used as humans because copying and pasting would be plagiarism. Which is not allowed online.

If the owner of the site or job wanted AI contents, he or she would have done it himself. If I am supervising and you bring AI generated contents for me to assess and grade, I would give you an absolute zero for that work.

I'll definitely take the time to review the content and double-check facts. Using Grammarly, plagiarism checkers, and AI checkers seems like a great approach to ensure the content is accurate and well-presented. Thanks for the suggestions.

You're right, mate. While ChatGPT is a valuable tool, fact-checking remains a critical step in ensuring information reliability. I've used Grammarly to refine my Ai content as well, and your suggestion of an AI checker for enhancing naturalness is intriguing and something I never thought of. I'll definitely look into that. I appreciate your input and will take your advice into consideration moving forward."

I may depend on it quite a bit but even I know to edit the response I get as it's foolish to blindly trust any form of software.

I'm glad you pointed out ChatGPT's nature to sometimes make up information so everyone should do some fact checking the legitimacy of the response provided.

Grammarly is a must and a plagiarism checker is mandatory as stated by others.
