Do you think AI's advancement will lead to a decrease in job opportunities in cybersecurity, or do you believe the demand for professionals in this field will continue to rise over the next decade?

I'm seeking well-reasoned perspectives and discussions on whether a career in cybersecurity can remain a reliable source of income in the foreseeable future.

In the tech sector, the trend is towards a greater need for advanced, high-level tasks, while the demand for basic, repetitive jobs is diminishing. This shift implies that overall demand in the tech field will probably rise, but with a greater emphasis on in-depth knowledge and expertise.
With the advancement of AI, there's a foreseeable escalation in sophisticated malware and novel online attack methods. Concurrently, AI is also being leveraged to develop innovative solutions for detecting and countering such threats. This dynamic points to a burgeoning field with expanding opportunities.

The challenges in cybersecurity are set to escalate, necessitating increased investment in this sector. Advanced AI technologies will empower security teams, enhancing their capacity to identify vulnerabilities. Presently, the scarcity of staff in many cyber teams means that any novel tool capable of detecting threats could bolster their case for additional personnel

If AI is used for the good, it's going to be very impressive in boosting up the cybersecurity sector. Cyber crime have been on an incredible rise over the last couple of years, the use of AI can almost put an end to this menace. It's capable of boosting security, stop fraud and track any criminal activities with so much ease.

See, the advancement of AI technology is good for cyber security and it can fight more efficiently with cyber criminals and fraud activities but human activities will never come to an end. The involvement of humans is mandatory since the deployment of AI in cyber security needs the proper and skilled workforce. So, you do not need to worry about a career in cyber security.

A lot of tech staff lost their jobs early this year and some of it was blamed on AI getting more usage than it used to by those Cyber security and tech companies. If they don't find a way to balance this issue, there will be more crisis these machines won't be able to keep up with solving.

Even though AI is going to boost the cybersecurity and make it more strong, it can raise its popularity in years. But there's no progress without sacrifices, there will be those who will be affected negatively with the dominance of AI being used in the cybersecurity department.

When AI is replacing a lot of people's work in the technology sector, it's not going to wrong for someone to be worried about their career in cyber security with AI making big marks in terms of being indispensable. Humans will mostly lose in this quagmire.

You are right Ai can provide new resources and ideas to develop the security system in more sophisticated way and enhance the human capacity to fight cyber crimes.

I don't think AIs can replace cyber security professionals. Rather, it would make their work more efficient. Cyber threats are evolving on a daily basis and feeding AI algorithm to catch cyber threats would leave the machine stranded when newer techniques emerge. Also, it requires human intervention to handle particular incidents of cases of cyber security.

It could, but I don't think i'd fully trust an AI to keep our data 'secure'. It's no different than a hacker hacking into a server. You'd be better off having a real human deal with breaches, but i'm not sure I'd feel comfortable leaving cybersecurity up to a robot.

I believe the same thing too. As far as the use of technology is concerned, there will always be a back way or back door through which data is leaked. This back door is designed and installed by the tech or AI program developer. Nothing is 100% secure without a leak.

Using current AI technology to handle Cybersecurity would be a huge risk because their ability to analyze breaches and address them is lacking without human input. What safety measures are there in case the AI isn't performing its job effectively?

The difference is that with the use of AI programs, if it comes to accessing security data, AI tools can do it quicker and better to find out where a breach came from. If there's data for the AI program to work with, it can do a better job when it's only left for a human to do it.
