Will Bard replace Google Search?

I wonder if Bard will eventually replace Google Search as the main way people find information online.

Bard seems more flexible and conversational than just typing keywords into a search box.

However, it remains to be seen if it can match the comprehensiveness and accuracy people expect from Google Search.

What do y'all think?

Having taken a look into Google Bard just recently and seeing what it is capable of, it does have the opportunity to be a replacement for Google Search.

At the moment I would not completely switch out Google Search for Bard but in time, it may be an option.

Quite an Interesting thought! Bard's conversational approach is refreshing, but Google's been the go-to for ages. Hard to beat its accuracy and vast database. Bard's got potential, but replacing Google? That's a stretch....a very long stretch bruh!

Haha, imagine asking Bard to find you the meaning of life. "Hey Bard, what's the secret to eternal happiness?" 🤔 But seriously, as cool as Bard sounds, Google's got that search game on lock. Accuracy is key, and Google's been the OG in that department. There is no replacing Google. But anything can happen in the AI world fast.

I frequently use AI tools as a replacement for Google search. However, unlike Google that does not create content but only show content, AI tools will create content, and the generated content might not always be authentic.

Google Bard is a great tool for searching and does have the potential to be a default search engine in time but at the moment, I would not switch to Bard permanently for searching.

Mixing Google Bard with Google search sounds like a better plan at least until Bard becomes more advanced.

Google Bard is great when you use it as a search engine for the most part but I have noticed that not everything is correct when you use it as a search engine and there are some things I have not been able to find the answer to and have had to go to another search engine.

In time I believe Google Bard will be a great alternative but right now it is early days.

Bard would not replace Google Search at all. That's because Bard is one dimensional. It gives you response in one way. If you want to have different perspectives of a particular thing, you would need to do a Google search and get the different perspectives from different sites.

Google Bard could replace Google Search because Google will see that people took a lot of resources when searching with Google this service may be discontinued shortly and then only AI search will be available in Google Search Console and then you have some number of requests per day until upgrade to premium or be back tomorrow, I do not think they will let Bing be switched to AI search and they keep old platform.

Google Bard will not replace Google Search. The whole thing which Bard does rely on what it gets from Google database. Without Google, there wouldn't be Google Bard. Using both of Google Search and Google Bard for your research will give better results more than using only one of them.

I think you are not thinking in the right manner. If someone makes a lot of queries on Google Search Console, it consumes money from Google Servers without paying money back. Even Bing has integrated artificial intelligence search means these search engines will disable the search console in the future and invest money in monetizing their bots means you have some number of credits every day like 5 credits then going to a subscription service for more credits.

Google search offers a broader spectrum for information seekers while Bard is all about bringing the depths of a possible information. Bard draws from Google search and hence it cannot replace Google search. They would continue to complement each other perfectly.

That's an important distinction to make. While Google Bard offers a different approach to accessing information, it's still reliant on Google's database. Utilizing both Google Search and Google Bard does seem like a smart strategy for maximizing research outcomes. Have you encountered any situations where one tool outperformed the other in providing relevant and accurate information?

This seems to be impossible since Google Search has its own standards and already made a spot in the online world. Bard its own tool that answers queries by fetching information directly from the Google.

I doubt if this is possible though, even if it becomes possible in the future, it would take a very long time. As it is now a lot of persons are not even aware of bard. They are already used to Google,so it might take some time adjusting to a new search engine.

People that need information with source can't rely on Bard . Google search always let's you have the authentic source of whatever information you are getting. And AI models have the tendency to hallucinate and generate information that are not factually very correct. For academic type information, it is better one sticks to search engines like Google ahead of language models.
