Will artists and illustrators become obsolete?

Midjourney is only getting better with each release.

What is going to happen to artists and illustrators in these coming years?

It is a very worrying time for artists and illustrators, especially those who rely on their skills to make an income. As you said, we have seen Midjourney become better with each release and we know that it will only continue to become better over time.

We can only hope that those who are looking for artists or illustrators will choose to still use those who have the skills to complete this kind of work rather than using something such as Midjourney to save costs and take shortcuts.

I don't believe that illustrators will become obsolete due to generators such as Midjourney and this is because it is going to take some time to build up the system for these kinds of generators to have better skills than those who already have the skills that many are looking for.

It may at some point start to affect illustrators but I don't think they will become obsolete.

In my eyes, illustrators will never become obsolete, the reason for this is that humans can build up their skills quicker than AI can be programed with new skills meaning humans and those who are illustrators should be able to stay ahead of AI.
