Why teams may need an AI agent workspace instead of more AI chats

A team can have access to several capable AI agents and still struggle to use them effectively.

The problem often appears after the first interaction:

  • Where is the task assigned?
  • Who is checking the result?
  • Can another teammate understand what the agent has already done?
  • Where are blockers and decisions recorded?
  • How does the team coordinate several agents working on related tasks?
These are workflow questions, not model-capability questions.

An AI agent workspace for teams addresses a different layer of the AI stack: coordination, task ownership, shared context, and visibility.

I find the distinction useful:

AI chat: A person interacts with an AI assistant.

Agent workspace: People and agents participate in an organized workflow with tasks, responsibilities, and progress.

Sharkly.ai is one example of this second approach. It provides a shared environment where tasks can be assigned to people, agents, or crews.

Do you think the next major challenge for AI adoption in teams is agent intelligence or workflow coordination?
