Exactly! It's like how I pointed out that AI will work with the data it have been fed. So, it's why I would pin it on the human who programmed the AI for such work when it fails as a result of wrong data, incomplete data or system malfunction. AI can't can't maintain its system on its own, the humans do it for the computer programe. If they fail to do it and the AI system malfunction while at work which results to a patient's death, it's the human that will take the blame.AI does not have human emotions, it will analyze facts to make decisions. Therefore, when it comes to making decisions I think AI tools will make better decisions compared to humans. Just like humans, AI might also make faulty decisions because of system failure and wrong data. Just like humans, I believe AI also cannot be 100 percent correct.
Now, the question is what was the human being doing where the AI powered machine picked him up instead of the object it was meant to pick up? I wouldn't blame the AI machine or its program in this situation but the human who put himself where the object was supposed to be.Recently, an AI-powered machine killed a human. Instead of an object, it picked up a human being and dropped him in a conveyor belt and the person was crushed. AI can somethings have problems reading data and processing data. Therefore, it can also make errors when it comes to making life and death decisions.
Your question is valid. But when the machine cannot differentiate between the object it should be picking up and the human standing, I think there is a fault line in how the machine was trained. The AI machine work according to the data input and if he data is not feed into it properly, it is bound to make mistakes. Now, the question is what was the human being doing where the AI powered machine picked him up instead of the object it was meant to pick up? I get it, the AI program machine can be wired to differentiate between an object and a human being if it's properly coded to know the difference but when it's not, and those who are working in factory where the machine is used should know better to remove themselves from where the machine is supposed to be working.Your question is valid. The decision making should never be for AI to make. I'm never going to back such trend because it will fail at most times. Let the AI be used to help human's make a better decision from the information the AI have made available. This is incredibly disturbing. AI shouldn't be in charge of life or death of the elderly, for instance. Anyone think they should?
I completely agree with you, we can not blame Ai for any kind of casualties. Ai works on the data which is integrated into it and deliver outcomes accordingly. it's the responsibilities of health care professionals to take proper care of their patients. In the end, I don't believe it's going to be AI that's going to be blamed when someone died. It's the doctor who choose to depend too much on a computer program to do his job 100%. AI should be used in health, but there should a limit to how it's going to be used.
All technology malfunction at some point. This is why I wouldn't trust an AI program to make the decision for me in a life or death situation when it's something that I can do for or by myself. AI will only work based on how it have been programmed. It won't consider any other variables which might not go well for me.I don't think I'd trust an AI program to keep me alive in a life or death situation if I'm honest. Much like how a computer can screw up and crash at times, I don't trust an AI to not malfunction and ultimately be the reason I don't make it off an operating table.
