Hey guys,
Currently knee-deep in research for my upcoming book and craving some community insights. I am interested in your take on AI in literature. What titles have you found compelling or cringe-worthy? Let's chat about the hits and misses that left a mark on you!

For me, Ted Chiang's "Story of Your Life" and Liu Cixin's "Three-Body Problem" are phenomenal examples of AI used to explore profound philosophical questions about humanity's place in the universe.

Instead of asking this question in a community about AI, you could have asked this to any Generative AI tools that you use. For example, I used your question as a prompt on ChjatGPT, and here is the response:

  • "Life 3.0: Being Human in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" by Max Tegmark
    • This book explores the future of AI and its impact on society, discussing the potential benefits and risks. Tegmark considers the ethical and existential questions surrounding AI development.
  • "AI Superpowers: China, Silicon Valley, and the New World Order" by Kai-Fu Lee
    • Kai-Fu Lee, a leading AI expert, provides insights into the race for AI dominance between China and the United States. He discusses the potential societal impacts and the need for ethical considerations in AI development.
  • "Artificial Unintelligence: How Computers Misunderstand the World" by Meredith Broussard
    • Broussard critically examines the current state of AI and challenges some of the common misconceptions about its capabilities. She addresses the risks and limitations of AI, emphasizing the importance of understanding its actual capabilities.
  • "Re-Engineering Humanity" by Brett Frischmann and Evan Selinger
    • This book explores the social and ethical implications of pervasive technological change, including AI. It discusses how technology, including AI, affects human relationships, dignity, and autonomy.

You have given a good response mate. This is exactly the same approach I would have made use of in order to get something that's better and worthy of being of a big influence on the book I'm writing. The good thing about using AI for this is that you would come up with lots of ideas even though they might not be original but it's going to help.

Generative AI tools are great tools for research, you can ask almost anything and get responses to all things. While Google search will display general search results, AI tools will display curated results.

AI tools helps to narrow down your inquiry into better results which will make it very easy for you to work with. This is the edge AI generative tools have over Google search engine in real time usage.

AI tools are very good at providing specific answers. For instance, you can ask AI to summarize books, interpret characters in a certain movie, analyze certain kinds of art styles, etc. You can also ask these questions on Google search but you will have to visit multiple sites through search results to get appropriate answer.

Yes, this is exactly the advantage AI tools brings into the mix. The user's work is made so much easy with no stress. Google will only give you dumps of data which you're going to start processing and putting together but AI will do all the work for you in just a matter of seconds.

Google will give you uncooked rice, but AI tools like ChatGPT and Bard will give you cooked rice that is ready to eat. Therefore, you will find AI tools better when it comes to doing online research. However, some of these tools do not give you a source of data so there might be some in accuracies.

I love how descriptive you are with your words, it makes it very much easy for even a novice to grasp quickly what you're trying to say. It's very correct what you've mentioned about the nature of information you'd get from Google and AI tools. There's a big better gap in data AI will give you.

By my observation lately, the use of Google search engine for projects have reduced drastically since there are many AI tool which some of them are free that will give you a better ended result than what Google can provide.

Google have the whole data on any subject saved on different sources. Going through them one by one will be exhausting but when am AI tool like ChatGPT is being used when researching on the subject, all the findings on it will be streamlined did easy access.

Being a content creator without the use of AI in this time will leave out racing from behind. AI makes the job so easy that it doesn't seem like the content creators are doing much but in real life, they aren't required to burn themselves out like they used to decades ago.
