Multilingual AI agents — is 70+ language support actually useful in practice?

I came across an AI voice agent platform that claims support for 70+ languages, and I'm curious about how practical this really is for businesses.

The promise is attractive: one AI agent that can handle customer calls in Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Arabic, Hindi, and dozens of other languages with native-quality low-latency voice. For businesses serving international customers, this could mean no more "press 1 for English, press 2 for Spanish" menus.

But in practice, how well does multilingual AI actually work? Some questions I have:

- Are the non-English languages really as good as English in terms of accuracy and naturalness?
- Does the AI handle cultural nuances (like how customers in different countries express frustration differently)?
- Is the latency actually acceptable for real-time phone conversations in all languages?
- How does it handle mixed-language conversations (e.g., a customer switching between English and their native language)?

If anyone here has deployed multilingual AI agents in real business settings, I'd love to hear about the experience — especially for languages beyond the usual English/Spanish/French trio.
