You took the words right out of my mouth. It doesn't matter if the fake is written by a human being or a machine because it was tasked to do so by a human being, it's never going to be ethical in any news office. Fake is fake, there's no twisting it.Generating Fake news is not ethical in any way, whether it is created by humans or AI. It is unethical to mislead people. Sadly, we have social media where fake news spread like wildfire. People are interested in fake news more than authentic news. That's because fake news sensationalizes news story.
True. And there is a difference between Fake and Helpful. I guess Google said that provided that the content is helpful to the reader, they don't have a problem with that. Fake news will not be helpful. But you can as well generate helpful content using AI.You took the words right out of my mouth. Illegal acts can never elude human beings, this is why they always abuse whatever they have access to manipulate. It's why there are those who use AI tools to generate fake and misleading information for their own gain. While most Generative AI tools are programmed in a way that they will not generate any illegal materials or deceptive materials, people can easily mislead these tools to create fake content that they can share online to mislead people.
I am completely agree that fake news can never be authentic and it leaves a wrong impact on the human mind. It becomes more dangerous when the fake news is related to social issues and political that can trigger imbalance in the society.Generating Fake news is not ethical in any way, whether it is created by humans or AI. I don't think so either because such news are capable of creating tension when it's a sensitive wrong information they are passing to the general public. Some private media houses are always fond of doing this sort of thing.I don't think fake news should be created at all.

It's not just social media that provides misinformation. So does legacy media to push specific agendas and manipulate the masses. Even though that spreading fake news is a criminal offence in such countries, does it stop fake news from being spread in the country? The answer is NO! This is why technology is needed to use and stop this act. Once the fake news are detected, they're going to removed immediately.Last few years social media platforms and search engine companies made a pact to fight and crackdown on fake news. To misleading people is grievous offence. Internet effect can make the fake news go viral and the destruction can be beyond reasonable proportion. In some countries, spreading fake news is a criminal offence.
I have the same opinion too about fake news. They should never be created and AI programs shouldn't be made to do something like that. Fake news can cause some serious panic which may result in riot, lives and properties may be destroyed as a result of this.I don't think fake news should be created at all.

Unfortunately, even though fake news are bad, media companies makes millions of dollars from having them published.
