The growing potency of LLMs sparks concerns about the potential automation of various human jobs. What's your take on the future of employment in the AI era?

The future of employment in the AI era is very unpredictable at the moment as it will depend on how quickly AI develops. As of now, we see stores operating self-checkout which is making it easier on the store workers who have time for other jobs but that means fewer job opportunities for those who are looking.

As AI progresses it will leave fewer jobs for humans as they will no longer be needed for something that can be done automatically.

I see new opportunities. You can use AI to improve your work flow. For instance, before there were any Generative AIO tools., it took me over one week to write an ebook, but currently, I can create an ebook just in two days. In the past, I had to think for hours to write a good copy, bt now I can get a good copy in a few seconds.

The truth is that the use of AI can be very helpful when it comes to getting the best out of your job. This is why most companies are now interested in using AI in one way or another for their business day to day running activities. It makes work to be more easier and efficient with less effort. The downside to this new development is that jobs will be lost in the process for human labor.

How LLMs impact the future of jobs is by either taking most of it away from those who are meant to do the job or give them better means of doing the jobs effectively but sadly, it looks like we are going with the former on this note.

Most people who are working individually and independently as a freelance contractor making use of AI tools will benefit from using AI tools but the same thing can't be said for those who are working in big companies who adopt the use of AI tools.

This is the reason why a lot of writers are thriving very well since they started making use of ChatGPT and other AI program tools which helps them be excellent in doing their individual jobs.

Yes, most people who work in companies where AI is needed to work with have been affected because many of them have been eliminated from their jobs. AI makes work to be more efficient, it's like how it gets easy when machines replace man in the labour factory. This is exactly what AI is doing now in some job sectors.

I am not among those that do the knee jerk reaction that AI models would cause unemployment and job losses. As a person, I believe LLM are more of opportunity providers and career growth enhancers. I use LLM to code without having any prior knowledge of coding. That has opened another career opportunity for me to explore. I believe that anyone that knows how to utilise LLM would gain more opportunities to work rather than lose them.

You may be able to gain some opportunities from the personal jobs that you're into but it doesn't change the fact of what's already happening in the job sector when it comes to AI costing thousands of people their jobs.

You need to read this Article to be well updated with what's happening.

This article by CNN supports what I've known to be happening for years. The sad part is that with the rate at which AI program are being adopted recently, let's assume 5,000 persons lost their jobs to AI last year, this year the number will double.

Anyone that lost his or her job to AI is to be blamed. If you position yourself well and see how you can be relevant within the scope of AI in your present job, there is no level of AI automation that can make you lose your job and become unemployed.
