Free vs. Paid AI: Which One Wins?

I kinda stumbled upon this closed-source AI by Lumina Analytics for diagnosing cancer. People on LinkedIn are trashing it, saying it's bad because you can't audit the code. But here's the twist – it outperforms everything out there. Is it really a bad thing if it's saving lives, even if we can't peek at the code on GitHub?
What's your take?

Whether AI is paid for or free, its supremacy varies depending on the requirements. Easy to get online, free AI tools are adequate for simple jobs but can be missing certain essential capabilities. Paid AI services, on the other hand, shine with better capabilities and support because they are designed for large projects that require customization and dependability. Free choices are good for infrequent users, but professionals or companies with complex needs can get more value out of a commercial AI investment. The choice ultimately comes down to the objectives of the user, weighing budgetary restrictions against the requirement for sophisticated features and reliable performance.

Frankly speaking, I have never used any paid AI tools. However, I use a lot of free tools or free versions of the premium AI tools. Well, there are limitations on free tools but free tools also offer a lot of features. There are multiple options to choose from.

As much as I have used AI tools in the past for ideas and inspiration, I have never paid to use an AI tool and have never felt that I needed to pay for an AI tool due to the premium features it may offer.

Most of the time the free version is more than enough for me.

Same here, but at a time I feel like I should be using some premium AI tools, especially in the video creation industry. I want to explore video creation with AI and most free versions have limitations.

When it comes to choosing any free or paid version of anything I want to make use of, it depends on my plans with that particular program. If it's something that I plan on using for a long time, I'll go with the paid version because I like getting the best from any service that I'm using. If it's something I don't have a long term plan for, I'll go with the free version.
