Do you think AI will progress to a 'dangerous' level?

Do you think AI will become so powerful, it can eventually play a key role in a catastrophic event? Something like wiping out humanity? Think something along the lines of the terminator movies?

I'm not sure if we'll ever see something this dire, personally, at least I certainly hope not. What are your thoughts?

It mostly depends on the lawmakers and their plans to regulate AI. If it's practical and adequately covers most issues that will arise with the mass adoption of AI, then it won't be that much of a problem. Left unchecked, and we'll probably start seeing the terminator movie happening in real time. That's including the cheesy Arnold Schwarzenegger cheesy one-liners.

It depends on the kind of level the law permits the developers to take it to. I believe that cloning is still illegal which is part of what AI program can get the best of it. AI program are going to capable of doing anything they are designed to do if the law allowed it.

Yeah, it can be happened, you can see the bad outcomes of AI and machines in the movies like Terminators and many others. All of them are ficticious but right now we are.very close to that world. Government authorities must make strict guidelines and regulatory to prevent the unethical usage of AI.

I'd say we're at least ten years off from to the terminator stage. AI, at its current capacity, is extremely limited in what it can do because not a lot of current tech lack AI integration. In addition to that, the technology for autonomous robots is extremely limited as well, and in 5 years, it still won't be anywhere as advanced.

AI can invade the human personal data in the coming time and then it can be used for the illegal or unauthorised purpose. So, thid is also one of the issues that needs preventive measures to protect the public privacy.

There are some big threats associated Artificial intelligence poses significant risks, such as the potential forautomation and the creation of lethal weaponry. It can be utilized in ideological groups to spread misinformation and specific marketing that will have negative effects.

This is very true. I have watched it in so much tech and sci-fi movies to know very well that it's very possible and easy for AI programs to leach up on someone's privacy. It's the law that's still putting a leash on how these AI programs are developed.

This will depends on the law in place. Because the truth is that AI program are going be doing anything they are designed to do if the law permit such. So no restrictions mean it can go haywire.

No, unless AI is designed to be dangerous, it will not be harmful to humans. Some individuals use AI for malicious purposes, such as robbing people of their money and causing harm to other people. So that means if people use AI for bad things, then yeah, it will be dangerous for us, but not by itself.

How AI programs are coded to work is how they are going to. If AI models are designed to become dangerous, they will be very good at it. Everything depends on what's been coded the AI programs to do. I believe that anything both good and bad is possible with AI.
