Can AI predict and prevent global crises?

In the wake of recent global events, I've wondered if AI could have predicted or even prevented these crises.

Could future AI systems analyze vast amounts of data to foresee economic collapses, environmental disasters, or health pandemics?

What are the ethical implications of such predictive capabilities?

AI can certainly predict global crises. It will read the existing historical data and make some predictions about crises in the future. However, AI can only analyze existing data, thus, there is no guarantee that the predictions will be 100 percent accurate.

Sure thing! AI predicting crises is cool, but there's a privacy line that's easy to cross.

I heard about an AI predicting a disease outbreak locally - impressive, but raised major privacy concerns. Balancing foresight and privacy is tricky.

I would imagine that AI could predict a global crisis but something that worries me about that is what if AI gets it wrong? Should we fully rely on AI to predict these kinds of things with the potential of it being wrong?

Take a look at the COVID-19 pandemic for example, if AI had predicted that and got anything wrong, that could have been fatal.
