AI news anchors..

AI has started invading all the possible professional space as well as the personal spaces of our lives. AI news anchors are being promoted. Indian news broadcasting group introduced Sana, the first AI news anchor in March 2023. Since then, she has done more than 200 hours of news anchoring on the TV channel. Few months later, Lisa, the first regional AI news anchor was launched. She knows a lot of regional languages like Odiya and others. And she is fluent with English too.
More work and efforts are being put to make these AI news anchors more proficient and interactive.
Now, my question is Is it the right use of AI? We have enough people who studied Journalism and are looking for jobs. Why to replace them with AI? Will you enjoy an AI news anchor as you enjoy human ones?

It is good to promote advanced technology and make use of it but we need to draw a boundary line between ai and human utilisation. Ai is a programmed application that works on the data but human can understand the timing and consequences of any news. Ai is capable of anchoring but can not not take place of human anchoring at least for now.

As long as as the developed AI anchor program does the job well in an objective manner which I know it's going to work with its programming coding, I wouldn't have any problems listening to the news. It's not only in journalism that AI is used now, the health and financial sectors all make use of different AI programs to enhance their sector.

While AI news anchors may offer advantages in terms of efficiency and language capabilities, I share your concerns about their impact on human journalists. Journalism is more than just delivering information; it involves storytelling, analysis, and connecting with the audience on a deeper level. Human news anchors bring authenticity and empathy that AI may struggle to replicate. Instead of replacing human journalists, we should use AI to enhance their work and explore new possibilities in news reporting.

Yeah, that's very correct. The most important thing is for those who are making using of different AI tools to work to know exactly how to not overuse it. Once they start overusing it, this is what gives room to those AI programs being looked at as the next best thing to replace human beings at their job.

That connection is what I don't see AI news anchors having even within the next few years no matter how much it would develop. I prefer a human news anchor for that emotional and human connection that an AI news anchor would continually lack.
