With increasing reliance on AI for communication and interaction, are we at risk of losing essential human social skills?

How would this affect our society and interpersonal relationships in the long term?

This is nothing but the truth. The world is shifting towards the use of AI in everything they are doing which isn't a good precedent that's been set. It will come a point where when technology fail or there's a big flaw in it, human existence is going to be affected drastically in a bad way.

This is unfortunately a very worrying time. With so many relying on AI for their social skills and also skills within writing, we could very well be on the way to seeing a generation who will not learn essential human social skills like most of us have done in the past and instead rely on AI.

I spent 6 months learning how to write SEO-optimized online articles and even more years to perfect my writing skills. However, currently, someone with skills to write AI prompts to create articles that are better than mine. There is certainly an erosion of social skills due to AI.

It's very frustrating when someone puts in a great effort to master a skill only to have everything thrown out of the window because a program was built to do it in seconds. It's discouraging for skill acquisition.

AI is playing a big part in people's lives when it comes to not only socializing but also working. Seeing how people tend to rely on AI has become worrying and I do believe will have a detrimental effect on people's social skills.

I think we need to incorporate new technologies to make our lives easier. Just because someone can use AI can create something better does not mean he is better than someone with real skill. AI-generated content still needs to sound human generated.

We used to complain about the influence of social media sites on human relationship. AI is moving with a speed no one saw coming. It's even beating how humans used to depend on social media sites before. This technology will be our end if we give into it 100%.

Erosion of social skills is a very real problem and one that I see getting worse over time. Many are now relying on AI just to communicate and that will lead to social skills not being practised whilst over time, social skills lacking more.

AI is becoming more dominant online both on social platforms and also on working platforms. Many rely on AI now to complete their work or even ensure that something they are posting on social media is not only true but also makes sense and for that, AI is used.

Over time, if you are not using the skills you know and learning new skills, you will start to notice that you forget things you once knew and AI could be a cause for this to start happening if humans continue to rely on it as much as they do now.

Yeah, that's a fact in how things are being done today with most people. We used to complain that human personal face to face communication have dropped as a result of too much dependence on social media platforms, now with AI, people are not relying on computer program to talk for them. I was in one forum last week where all responses most people give to post are AI generated.
