My perspective is that current AI systems essentially excel at advanced word prediction. For ASI to become a reality, it seems that significant advancements in AI technology are still required.
Our progress towards achieving ASI necessitates additional advancements. However, this requirement does not necessarily cast doubt on the feasibility of ASI. If further innovations are needed, it's likely that we will achieve them. Conversely, if no additional breakthroughs are required, we will attain ASI regardless.
We need more advanced breakthroughs. Imagine devices that merge the adaptive learning capabilities of systems like Alpha Go with the conversational skills of language models. These wouldn't be static after training; instead, they would continually modify themselves, enhancing their performance over time. Ideally, such machines would also process inputs from the real world, including visual, auditory, and tactile data.
Have you already explored what is already available in the market? Have you seen Sophie, an AI Robot that can even flirt with humans? I think we already have tools with Artificial Super Intelligence. Soon we will have personal AI assistants, even to do your mundane tasks like fetching you cup from the kitchen.
