How will Bard impact jobs and the economy?

Since Bard is capable of generating a wide range of content on demand, obviously there is the high possibility of disrupting many jobs involving writing and research.

Journalism, marketing, legal work, and education could all be impacted, TBH.

But it may also create new job opportunities in managing and utilizing AI systems.

What's your opinion here?

I am a proponent of Generative AI, including Bard. These tools not only help with research but also with generating content. Why should you spend hours to think about your copy when you can get ideas from AI tools like Bard in seconds.

For those who are working in job sectors such as freelance writing, journalism and even marketing, Bard will have an impact on their jobs without a doubt but I do agree with you in terms of it opening up job opportunities in utilizing and managing AI systems.

These are two different kinds of careers though, even though jobs would open up, many would lose jobs that they have skills in and in a world like today, that could cause many issues.

Just because there is AI tool like Bard, etc. does not mean people are going to lose jobs. You need skills to use these tools, you need to create interesting and unique prompts for these AI tools to generate good content. This leaves room for people to find work opportunities.
