It would have been better if you could have given some examples for better understanding and continuation of the discussion..I would put my points here from what I could understand from the question.
AI is definitely smart but the use or misuse of this smartness is dependent on human. Human can harness it for their good or for their bad. That's where the ethical use of AI becomes a hot topic for debate.
AI definitely can become a powerful tool for criminals and there would be more cases of scams, intricate crimes etc in times to come. Ironically, human are trying to find the solutions too using AI
