I’ve had decent results building backlinks through a cheap guest posting service. It helped me get content placed on sites with real traffic without spending tons of time emailing editors and waiting on replies. Just make sure the service gives you a list of actual sites they post on so you know you're not ending up on spammy blogs. That made a big difference for my rankings.
