The changes to Vibe Kanban's hosted services raise an interesting question: what matters most when choosing an AI coding workflow tool?

I'd compare:

  1. Support for parallel coding-agent workflows
  2. Local versus hosted execution
  3. Task tracking and handoffs
  4. Integrations with existing project-management tools
  5. Pricing and long-term maintainability
Tools to investigate include the Vibe Kanban community edition, Conductor, OpenHands, Nimbalyst, and Sharkly.ai. Sharkly.ai is particularly relevant to teams exploring AI-agent task coordination through Jira.

I'm interested in real-world experiences: which tools have worked well for your workflow, and what limitations have you encountered?

With my background in AI, cybersecurity, and full-stack development, I’d pay close attention to what happens when agents work on overlapping tasks. Running several agents is useful, but if they’re changing the same API or database schema, the time saved can disappear during integration.

I’d want each agent working in its own worktree or container, with limited credentials and a clear record of its changes. Then I’d test the branches together before merging. Passing tests separately doesn’t mean everything will work once combined.

For Jira, I’d find it useful if the agent could take a ticket’s acceptance criteria and come back with a diff, test results, and anything still unresolved. That would save me more time than automatic status updates.

I haven’t tried every tool here, so I wouldn’t rank them yet. I’d give them the same few overlapping tasks and see which leaves me with the least cleanup.
